KIL (referring to the abbreviation of the word Akil and kill) is a 2014 Malaysian Malay film directed by Nik Amir Mustapha and distributed by K&L Entertainment Sdn. Bhd.It was written by Nik Amir Mustapha,Rewan Ishak and Khairulzaman Dzulkifly and produced by Tengku Iesta Tengku Alaudin.The film tells about Akil (Redza Minhat), a young man who has a tendency to commit suicide. After several failed suicide attempts, Akil has hired an agency to murder, Life Action Bureau (LAB) to help him commit suicide. When the date of his death drew near, he fell in love with a girl he met, Zara (Cristina Suzanne). The film won four awards from seven nominations at the Anugerah Skrin 2013 (including Best Film)and topped the 26th Malaysian Film Festival with five wins out of eleven nominations (including Best Picture). ==Plot== A young, depressed man named Akil (Redza Minhat) want to commit suicide. However, he always failed in each attempt. When attempting to jump from the building, he has managed to prevent a teenage (Juliana Evans) from committing suicide because of a breakup. One day, he noticed a piece of flyers that promote suicide services. Akil call the number and speak to Salina (Dira Abu Zahar) who finally finds himself with an agency named Life Action Bureau (LAB). After discussing with an LAB consultant, Mr. Harun (Harun Salim Bachik), he hired the agency to kill him, in an unknown manner. He did not know who the LAB contractor (assassins) and when or where the execution will be done. Akil resume his normal life until he begins to fall in love with a girl he just met, Zara (Cristina Suzanne). Akil frequently met with Zara before he realized he was being followed by a LAB contractor. Akil then get the first bonus (after four years of work) from his boss. Akil bring Zara to watch a movie titled World Without Tomorrow directed by Johan Iskandar (Hasnul Rahmat). Johan is among LAB's customer due to his failed marriage with his wife (Atilia Haron). As day pass through, Akil more often get pictures of his everyday life with little notes,encouraging him to continue living his life. Akil also became increasingly happy with his life. Zara was later revealed as a LAB contractor for Johan. The next day, Akil were kidnapped and got pictured before being released. Akil came home with his house helter-skelter. Felling frustated,Akil call LAB officials to cancel the contract killing. After Mr. Harun said the action is impossible, Akil tried to make a police report but struggled to explain it to the police. Akil then return to the village to meet with Aunt Rose. His mum have been killed in an accident due to Akil mistake. Zara also were disclosed as having receiving kidneys from Raj, son of Miss Jasmine (Anna James). After returning from the village, Akil came across a collection of pictures of Zara's victims. Akil began to suspect the sincerity of his friendship with Zara and Zara is in fact, a LAB contractor. After that, Akil met with Zara. Zara told him that she was working with LAB, but denied she was a killer. They argued for a moment before Akil told Zara to kill him straight away. Zara slap Akil and reminded him that she still care about him. Upon returning home, Akil met with the LAB contractor assigned to kill him (Mr. Harun). Akil said he wanted his life back as the last word before Mr.Harun pointed a pistol at his head. Zara tried to find information on Akil's case in LAB data library, but it were proven too late to prevent Mr. Harun from executing the contract. In the epilogue, the pistol were revealed as a toy gun. LAB also is not a killing agency but is a NGO that aims to prevent suicide. Knowing that he or she would be killed, one would better appreciate life. Mr.Harun also told that Zara is a LAB contractor but not for himself.
